2019 AIPP NT Documentary Photographer of the Year

Another year and another gruelling period where some of NT’s finest photographers spend hours on end, sacrificing blood, sweat and tears to create some amazing photographs for the Australian Institute of Professional Photography State Awards. These awards are sponsored by Epson and are not for the feint hearted. Firstly, its one of the few competitions out there that requires photographs to be submitted in print. This means a lot of fine tuning to ensure they appear their best on archival quality rag paper. To have your photos closely scrutinised by 5 judges who are masters of their craft requires a whole new level of crazy or commitment to perfection.

This year I entered photographs in travel, nature and commercial and was pleased to have been awarded 7 silver awards and 1 silver distinction from a total of 12 submissions. I was also very fortunate to be awarded with the 2019 AIPP NT Documentary Photographer of the Year! It has been a fantastic journey with the AIPP NT Photographic community over the past few years as we learn from each other to improve ourselves as professional photographers so that we can create better photos for our clients and ourselves.
